Plant of the month: Mulla mulla

In its native habitat in arid Australia, this low-growing perennial erupts into masses of feathery mauve flowers after spring rains, and continues flowering for most of the year. It’s best suited to dryer climates in temperate, arid and dry tropical regions; growing well in rockeries and containers with a good free-draining potting mix.

In another few weeks or so, the true leaves should be big enough for me to prick these out into individual pots. Then we'll see how the roots compare.

This week we lost our dear Gramps at the age of 91. 

The thing I remember most about him is his love of nature. When I last visited him in 2017, walks into town would take a while, not because he was slow, but because he was always stopping to point

I acknowledge the Wurundjeri people as the Traditional Owners and true sovereigns of the land on which I work, and pay respect to Elders from all nations who have passed on their knowledge and love of plants and the more-than-human world.
