About
A Patch of Green is a garden design and therapeutic horticulture practice based in Naarm/Melbourne. We create outdoor spaces that support wellbeing, offer sanctuary, and invite deeper connection with nature.
Our design philosophy is shaped by a blend of spatial design, urban horticulture, and lived experience in disability support. We believe gardens can be restorative, inclusive, and joyful—whether they’re tucked into a balcony or spread across a backyard.
Founder Meg Chatterton brings a person-centred, neuroaffirming approach to every project. With qualifications in spatial and communication design, and a Master of Urban Horticulture from the University of Melbourne, Meg designs spaces that are both beautiful and practical.
We work closely with renters, small-space gardeners, and neurodivergent clients to transform underutilised areas into sensory-aware environments. Our work is grounded in therapeutic principles and guided by the ethics of earth care, people care, and fair share.
From hands-on horticultural sessions to award-winning garden installations, we advocate for accessible, sustainable gardening at every scale.
