About

Founded by Meg Chatterton, A Patch of Green is a garden design and co-gardening practice based in Naarm/Melbourne. I believe that a garden is more than just a collection of plants. It is a place of sanctuary and a way to connect with the earth in a busy world. My goal is to create outdoor spaces that support your wellbeing and invite you to slow down.

My approach is shaped by a experience in spatial design, urban horticulture and permaculture, and lived experience of neurodivergence and disability. So I work with the understanding that everyone has different sensory needs and physical rhythms.

I work closely with renters, neurodivergent folks, and people with small spaces. My work is guided by the ethics of earth care, people care, and fair share. This means I advocate for sustainable gardening that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their budget or living situation. I’d love to help you create your own patch of green.

Meg Chatterton

Meg (she/her) brings a person-centered and neuro-affirming lens to every project. With a background in spatial design and a Master of Urban Horticulture from the University of Melbourne, Meg creates spaces that are both beautiful and grounded in science. This unique blend of skills means she looks equally at the big picture of how a space feels and the small details of how a plant grows.
