Got a small patch and no idea how to make it green?

I know that garden dreams can feel overwhelming—especially if you're renting, neurodivergent, or just not sure where to start.

That’s where I can help.

As a qualified horticulturist and landscape designer, Meg offers garden design and consultations that are thoughtful, inclusive, and designed for you.

Whether you’ve got a balcony, a tiny courtyard, or a rental backyard that’s begging for love, I’ll help you create something beautiful, calming, and easy to care for.

Step 1

Your dream garden starts with a complimentary, no-pressure online consultation where I listen, observe, and ask the right questions. It’s a chance for me to get to know you and your space, and for you to decide if you think my offerings align with what you’re looking for. Consultations go for 20-30 minutes.

We’ll chat about:

  • What’s working and what’s not

  • How you want your space to feel (calm? sensory-rich? productive?)

  • Sunlight, soil, and quirks of the space

  • Your capacity, needs, and plant confidence

From there, you can decide if you’d like me to visit your space to assess it more thoroughly and provide design recommendations.

What happens next?

After your initial consultation, you can choose to keep things simple with a site visit and design proposal, or dive deeper with a full planting plan and installation

  • For residents within 15km of Preston VIC, I provide a 1-hour onsite visit to more accurately assess your space and provide expert advice.

    After we meet, you’ll receive:

    • A summary of our discussion and ideas shared

    • A written design proposal and visual moodboard with recommendations for next steps

    • An outline of fees for next steps (all optional)

    Consultations are $210 ex GST.

  • If you decide to put these ideas into action, the next step is a personalised layout tailored to your space and sensory preferences. This includes:

    • A sketch plan of your space with key features and plants

    • A planting plan showing full plant list and locations (or pot styling for balcony/indoor gardens)

  • For DIYers, I provide a supply list of plants and materials that you can source yourself, with priority given to local, ethical suppliers. This can include purchasing and delivery to take the overwhelm out of shopping.

  • If you’d like a little more support, I can plant up your garden for you, or we can plant together.

  • If you’d like assistance keeping your new patch of green happy and healthy, I also provide garden maintenance. Find out more here.

FAQs

  • Yes! As a renter myself, I can suggest non-permanent, portable, and landlord-friendly ideas that still feel lush and personal.

  • I keep things calm, clear, and sensory-friendly. You’ll receive follow-up notes in simple language and I always check in before making suggestions.

  • Design consultations are $210, and fees for planting plans, planting etc. will be outlined in the design proposal. Please ensure that you have a specific budget for bringing ideas to life so that I can tailor design recommendations accordingly. I’m all about sustainability, re-use, and working within your budget.

  • That’s totally fine. Part of my job is helping you discover what feels right in a non-judgemental way. You don’t need it all planned out—just a little curiosity and a willingness to explore.

  • As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand how to communicate and design with sensory regulation in mind—whether that’s pleasing textures, calming plants, gentle routines, or keeping visual clutter low.

  • Absolutely. This is how I got started with gardening, and I love bringing greenery indoors—especially in small or sensory-friendly ways.

  • In-person consults are limited to within 15km of Preston, VIC (see below for a list of service areas). But I offer Zoom consults Australia-wide.
