Helping gardeners cultivate spaces that offer sanctuary, enhance wellbeing, and bring a deeper connection to nature.
Meg Chatterton specialises in small garden design and therapeutic horticulture in Melbourne for renters and neurodivergent gardeners.
I create calming, sensory-aware gardens that are a joy to be in, regardless of home ownership status or budget.
Who I work with
Small-space gardeners
Whether you’re new to gardening or have been gardening all your life, I empower you to create beautiful, functional outdoor spaces that enhance your wellbeing and connect you to nature.
I focus on planting design for small gardens and balconies to provide you with the tools you need to get started on bringing your garden to life.
Renters
As a renter myself, I know how daunting it can be to pour your time and money into a garden – with constraints on what you can plant and where – whilst never quite knowing how long you’ll be able to enjoy it!
I provide creative, flexible solutions for overcoming these challenges to enable you to enjoy your space while you’re there, and take elements with you when it’s time to move.
Neurodivergent clients
I create therapeutic spaces where you feel comfortable and supported to engage with gardening and nature on your terms.
My gardens provide a refuge where you can be your authentic self, fostering your strengths and interests, with consideration for both sensory and emotional needs.
Services
Each package starts with a one-hour consultation to talk through your garden dreams. You can then decide if you would like to add on a design, planting or therapeutic gardening package.
Garden consultation
Each package starts with a one-hour consultation. Together we will discuss:
your needs for the space
what styles, colours and materials you prefer
what plants may be suitable
your budget
After the consultation, you will receive a sketch plan and a moodboard showing suggested plants and finishes.
Consultations are available online Australia-wide, with an in-person for Melbourne locals.
Price is $180, plus travel fee.
Design and planting plans
Once you’ve received your sketch plan and moodboard, you can choose to add on these extras to help you get started.
Whether you’re a DIY gardener or would like us to handle sourcing and planting, this could include:
planting plan
plant and landscaping supply list
sourcing and delivery
for edible gardens, a seasonal planting plan
tips for installation or recommended landscapers
plant set out and planting (Melbourne only)
Therapeutic gardening sessions
For Melbourne locals, I offer tailored sessions in your garden or local green space to help you connect to nature and enjoy the wellbeing benefits of gardening.
Outcomes for these sessions could include:
improving mindfulness and connecting to nature
managing overwhelm and hypersensitivity
body doubling to help you get started and stay focused on gardening tasks
integrating passion projects and special interests into gardening and the outdoors
If you are a self- or plan-managed NDIS participant, you may be able to claim some services.
Please note these sessions are only available for participants over the age of 18.
